A stronghold for the artistic

Theaters, museums and art are truly at home in Mannheim, the National Theater is the oldest communal theater in the world. With its Kunsthalle, the city of squares also proves to be a city of high artistic caliber. The impressive SAP arena not only serves as a venue for musical events, it is also home to the city’s record-breaking ice hockey team Mannheim Adler and the premier league handball team Rhein-Neckar Löwen. Mannheim is also a congress town: This is what the Rosengarten stands for – the congress and cultural center in the heart of the city with state-of-the-art conference rooms and impressive concert halls for an extensive cultural program offering.

But above all, Mannheim is a music city: Mozart left his marks here and today the Popakademie is the city’s flagship. But also the “Söhne Mannheims” with Xavier Naidoo, the Musikpark as well as the University of Music and the Performing Arts are proof that Mannheim is rightly known as the pop capital of Germany.
